Group Meeting:  The children were excited to hear that we could go outside during play time today.  We took a few minutes to talk about what things we could do outside and how to play safely.

Story:  The story for today was Charlie Anderson by Barbara Abercrombie.  Charlie is a cat that wandered into Elizabeth and Sarah's house one day.  He liked their house and stayed overnight.  In the morning, Charlie went back outside and into the woods.  Each day, Charlie comes in for the night and goes out in the morning.  One stormy night, Charlie doesn't come home.  The girls are worried about him.  Where did Charlie go?  Ask your child to tell you.  I love this book because it talks about how Charlie and the girls both have two homes.  The girls stay with their mom during the week and visit their dad on the weekends.  Charlie has two homes too.  He stays with the girls at night and goes to the neighbors during the day.  Two homes with people who love them.

Curves and Lines:  I introduced the children to wooden lines and curves.  This is part of the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum.  When we begin making letters, it will be helpful for the children to know the difference between a line and a curve.  We used the big lines to sing "Tap, Tap".

Snack:  The snack for today was whole wheat Goldfish, cheese sticks, and water.

Here's a few pictures from outside today.
