Group Meeting: We looked at a few more family pictures today. If you haven't sent one yet, please do so. The children love looking at them on our Family Tree.
Story: The story for today was Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion. Harry is a white dog with black spots who does not like to take a bath. One day, he hears the bath water running and thinks he will have to take a bath. He buries the scrub brush in the backyard and runs away from home. He explores new places in the neighborhood and gets very dirty. So dirty, that he looks like a black dog with white spots. When he decides to go back home, his family does not recognize him. What can he do to make his family realize that it is him? Ask your child to tell you!
Numeral recognition: The children played a game called "Where's Harry?" In small groups, we placed numeral cards 1-10 on the table. The children took turns hiding Harry behind one numeral card while the rest of the group closed their eyes. The children took turns guessing which numeral Harry was hiding behind.
Fine Motor: The children learned the song "The Ant, the Bug and the Bee". This song is part of the Handwriting Without Tears song. After listening to the song, they completed a coloring page.
Snacks: The snack for today was white cheddar rice cakes, milk and water.
